The Executive Bio
With three decades of dedicated service in educational technology and academic administration, Raymond Scheel specializes in transforming complex instructional challenges into sustainable digital environments. Acting as both a high-level product owner and technical strategist, he has successfully guided online development supporting tens of thousands of active enrollments across the Texas State University System (TSUS). His work centers on building strategic partnerships, establishing unified SaaS ecosystems, and delivering accessible, high-performing courses that expand institutional reach while maintaining rigorous educational standards.
Currently serving as the Associate Director for Course Development at SHSU Online and an adjunct instructor in the Learning Technologies program, Raymond operates at the intersection of technical architecture and pedagogical theory. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Education in Instructional Systems Design and Technology, providing a rare fluency in both backend database infrastructure and front-line classroom instruction.
Beyond the Dashboard
A lifelong Texan—born in Houston, raised in Bay City, and rooted on an 11-acre property in Huntsville since 1996—Raymond balances high-level digital architecture with tangible, hands-on community building. Outside of his advisory roles, he is a registered Texas beekeeper managing Scheel Apiary, an active Assistant Scoutmaster and Unit Commissioner for Scouting America, and a relentless prototyper of custom 3D-printed apiary equipment.
Whether engineering “uncheatable” AI assessments for a university system or executing live structural honeybee removals, his approach remains the same: identify the root cause, build a resilient system, and prioritize human impact.
